My profile

Biography

I’m an Experiential Learning Tutor in Rise, Manchester Met’s award-winning space for experiential learning in the extended curriculum. Along with designing, delivering and curating innovative learning experiences, we also administer the accreditation framework that enables students to enhance their degree outcomes through Rise.

I lead our team’s work stream on Internationalisation. I collaborate with staff across the University with Internationalisation portfolios, with our EDI team, and with external partners. Together, we curate, develop and facilitate meaningful engagement opportunities through Rise; developing creative ways to build cultural competency and belonging for all students and community members across the University.

I am faculty link for Health and Education, drawing on my prior practitioner experience in teaching performing arts in the mainstream and special education sectors in the UK and Australia. Here I work with colleagues to scaffold student journeys through Rise. I facilitate experiences which form connections, encourage curiosity and build confidence for students within the faculty. I continuously seek and welcome opportunities for new collaborations.

I have also been privileged to work in the INGO space in facilitation and workshop delivery. I am passionate about the value of facilitating culturally sensitive experiential learning and its impact on an individual’s growth and educational gain. I am currently undertaking my dissertation for an MA in HE with UTA at Man Met, where I am evaluating this further with the students I work with through Rise.
