Biography

I am a Digital Education Specialist in the Digital Education Team that’s part of the LEED centre.  I support the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

LEED brings together the University Teaching Academy, Technology Enhanced Learning team and Education Innovation and Initiatives unit.  Our expertise ensures that pedagogic scholarship and innovation are at the heart of our curriculum enhancement, educational policy and practice. This enables us to grow the capability and reputation of our educators.

I joined MMU in Septmebr 2013 having previously lectured in Computing within FE/HE at Burnley College and the University of Central Lancashire and where I was an ALZ (Active Learning Zone) and Innovation Manager.

I have a Post-Grad Diploma in ICT and Education from the University of Leeds, a Post-Grad Diploma in Academic Practice from Manchester Metropolitan University, a CertEd from the University of Central Lancashire, a degree in Computing from Lancaster University, a HND in Business Information Technology from the University of Central Lancashire, and I am a Senior Fellow of the HEA.

Interests and expertise

I am a Digital Education Specialist in the Digital Education Team that’s part of the LEED centre.  I support academic and professional services staff in teh area of digital education and skills.

I have an interest in technology and some of my special interest areas and knowledge includes Moodle, Video Editing, Microsoft Teams and Vevox.

I am a Principal Examiner, in teh subject of Database Design for a national and inter-national education provider for undergraduates.

I have over 25 years experience of working in the education sector.

I have taught at BTEC, A-Level, Undergraduate and Post-Graduate level.

Teaching

I have taught post-16 in the areas of Computing, Business IT and Media.

I have taught at BTEC, A-level, undergarduate and Post-graduate level.
