My profile

Biography

I joined MMU in 2002 and have enjoyed working in a number of faculties including the Business School, Humanities and Education. I have also worked in three central services - The University Teaching Academy (UTA), Learning Support and the Careers and Employability Service. My combined experiences across these areas inform my practice and the work I do as an Educational Developer.

Teaching

I lead the Good to Great (EPC), executive leadership course for colleagues working towards a professorship in Higher Education. I also lead its companion course, Future Education Leaders (FEL) for colleagues working towards their readership. I am the unit leader for Leading in HE Contexts, which is part of the PGCLTHE/MAHE, so open to all colleagues with an interest in leadership.

I have led the New to Teaching offer at MMU since 2007 and in this time watched many PGRs begin to form their academic identities and begin to teach or carve out their careers outside Higher Education.
