Introduction

The various levels of fellowship discussed here are nationally recognised, lifelong and portable. They are a stamp of approval from AdvanceHE, a nationally and internationally recognised authority in teaching and learning practice.

The process of gaining recognition encourages colleagues to reflect upon the impactful elements of their work and, once complete, are an indicator of your commitment to developing your own teaching and learning practices.

AdvanceHE fellowship at Manchester Metropolitan University, at all levels, is mapped to the UK Professional Standards Framework which supports the initial and ongoing development of staff engaged in teaching and supporting learning.

Important note: new Professional Standards Framework 2023

In January 2023, AdvanceHE released the new Professional Standards Framework 2023. Institutions are only able to accredit to these new standards following a lengthy process of reaccreditation. Manchester Metropolitan University will transition to PSF 2023 by no later than 1st September 2024. Therefore, the final date that we will accept applications using the UK Professional Standards Framework is 30th August 2024.

For now, all internal applicants will remain writing their claims based on the 2019 UK Professional Standards Framework, available here: 2019 UK Professional Standards Framework.

If you do have any questions about this period of transition, please contact Scheme Leaders Dr Chris Little (c.little@mmu.ac.uk) or Kirsteen Aubrey (k.aubrey@mmu.ac.uk).
