Art Of Ayresome - Middlesbrough Football Club Exhibition

Art of Ayresome, a new online art exhibition celebrating the heritage and history of Ayresome Park, Boro’s home from 1903 until 1995.

Date: Available from Friday 5th June 2020

Location: On the Middlesbrough Football Club website here

Curated by historian Dr Tosh Warwick, Art of Ayresome brings together work from architects, cartoonists, illustrators, painters, photographers and sculptors to celebrate the people, performances and place that defined Middlesbrough Football Club for almost a century.

The exhibition also features a selection of downloadable publications and videos by artists and fans revealing their own memories and perspectives on art and Ayresome Park.

A collaboration between Creative Factory Middlesbrough, Heritage Unlocked, Manchester Metropolitan University and Middlesbrough Football Club, the online art exhibition marks with the 25th anniversary of Boro’s last season at the famous old ground.

We hope that Art of Ayresome brings back memories for those who remember Boro’s time at Ayresome Park and also allows those who did not experience the thrill (and despair!) of a matchday at the ground to discover more about the club and the home of the Boro for 92 years.

Please share your feedback on the exhibition and any memories it has prompted by following the link in the ‘Visitor Book’ section at the end of the exhibition.

If you feel inspired by Art of Ayresome, why not submit your own artwork via the ‘Ayresome Art Club’ section of the exhibition. A selection of community submissions will be added to the exhibition as we expand the largest ever exhibition of Ayresome Park inspired art.

Manchester Metropolitan University is committed to disability equality. If you have any access requirements, please let us know by emailing lucy.simpson@mmu.ac.uk before you attend to help us to make sure that your visit to the event is as enjoyable as possible.
