These are the key dates to remember for Clearing at Manchester Met.
When does Clearing 2023 open?
You can start applying for courses in Clearing from Wednesday 5 July, but only if you already have your results.
To apply early, you must:
- have your exams results
- be able to meet the exam results
- not already be holding an offer for a university
All applications must be made through the UCAS hub.
While UCAS Clearing runs from July to October, universities offering places often stop early. At Manchester Met, we’ll close Clearing on Friday 8 September — or sooner if our courses fill up.
When are the exam results published?
- Thursday 17 August — A-level results day
This tends to be one of the busiest days of Clearing. Tens of thousands of students will find out whether their results meet the conditions of their offer. If you have yet to find your ideal course, it’s not too late.

When does Clearing end at Manchester Met?
Clearing closes at Manchester Met. We will accept no new enquiries after this date. Some courses are likely to close earlier when all the vacancies are filled.
When are the Clearing visit days at Manchester Met?
- Wednesday 23 August — 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- Wednesday 30 August — 12:00pm – 3:00pm
If you’ve applied through Clearing but not had a chance to come to campus, you can book onto one of our visit days. You’ll get to see the facilities, meet staff and students, and get a feel for the University.
When do I need to confirm my offer?
- Usually within 48 hours of receiving a verbal offer from us
If you’re an offer holder for September entry, you must have met all the conditions of your offer to have your place confirmed.
