We use industry-standard software including Ansys and SOLIDWORKS which allows us to design real simulations. It’s a great feeling to see something develop from the virtual into reality – it’s a fascinating process.

I chose Manchester Met because of the facilities, the workshops, the labs and the lecturers. The access to tutors at this University is great and has definitely enhanced my learning. The University works closely with major companies like Rolls Royce and Bosch, and some masters students are even getting to work on live projects with Bentley.

What I like most about the course is coming into the workshop, gathering data, looking at progress on my project and seeing where I’ll be taking it to next. My future aspirations are to work in the automotive field, at the cutting edge of engineering. I’ve had a great time at Manchester Met and my advice to anyone considering a masters in engineering is to just go for it!
