We want you to have a great visit, every time. So we ask that you follow our rules and regulations to make sure that the Library works for everyone.

Rules and Regulations

The Student Code of Conduct sets out the standard of conduct the University expects of its students so that everyone can undertake their studies in a supportive and non-threatening environment. Any behaviour that affects the safety or well-being of students or staff is regarded as misconduct.

Please respect your study environment

Choose the appropriate study zone for your needs. Please show consideration to others by using the correct space for your needs.
You can bring cold food and lidded drinks into the Library (except Special Collections) and are welcome to eat hot food in the Library Lounge.

Using Library resources

Only take resources out of the Library that you have borrowed.
Please look after the items you take out as you may be charged for lost, stolen or damaged items. If a book you’ve requested has come from the British Library replacement charges can be substantial.
Remember the Library’s online services are for academic use only and must not be used for any commercial purpose.
Always follow copyright law.
