Rules and Regulations

The Student Code of Conduct sets out the standard of conduct the University expects of its students so that everyone can undertake their studies in a supportive and non-threatening environment. Any behaviour that affects the safety or well-being of students or staff is regarded as misconduct.

Please respect your study environment 

  • Choose the appropriate study  zone for your needs. Please show consideration to others by using the correct space for your needs. 

  • You can bring cold food and lidded drinks into the Library (except Special Collections) and are welcome to eat hot food in the Library Lounge. 

Using Library resources 

  • Only take resources out of the Library that you have borrowed.  

  • Please look after the items you take out as you may be charged for lost, stolen or damaged items. If a book you’ve requested has come from the British Library replacement charges can be substantial.

  • Remember the Library’s online services are for academic use only and must not be used for any commercial purpose. 

  • Always follow copyright law
