University wins Nurse Education Provider of the Year at prestigious nursing awards

Success for Manchester Met at Student Nursing Times Award

Manchester Met’s excellence in nursing has been recognised with the accolade of Nurse Education Provider of the Year (Post-registration) at the prestigious Student Nursing Times Awards 2023.

The awards celebrate the best of the next generation of nurses and their educators and highlight the top talent entering the profession, showcasing excellence in all specialties of student nursing.

Manchester Met’s award for nurse education celebrates its post-registration apprentice team which has played an important role in supporting the development of apprentices for post-registration nurses since 2019, helping employers to understand and engage with them.

Its programmes are the UK’s only post-registration apprenticeships rated outstanding under the new Ofsted inspection framework.

Manchester Met has worked with employers to design the content of programmes, ensuring that programmes equip apprentices to meet the needs of the sector and employers, and are prepared for contemporary nursing challenges.

Mark Hayter, Manchester Met’s Head of Nursing, said: ”We are absolutely thrilled to win this award, which is testament to the hard work, skill and dedication of the post-registration apprentice team at Manchester Metropolitan University.”
