Manchester Metropolitan has joined The Turing University Network, a UK-wide university network of data science and artificial intelligence (AI) expertise established by the Alan Turing Institute. 

The announcement marks the University’s commitment towards AI research and innovation on the global stage and enhances our strategic mission to transform lives through the power of education and research. 

In recent years, AI has become an indispensable force driving revolutionary discoveries, ground-breaking research, and transformative industrial progress. 

Manchester Metropolitan has been at the forefront of these developments. 

Our AI research portfolio spans AI technology advancement, human-centred AI, ethical AI, and responsible AI. University research also uses AI to craft innovative solutions to transform future healthcare, empower environmental sustainability, and enrich industries and society.

The Turing University Network supports the Alan Turing Institute in achieving ambitious goals to advance world-class research and apply it to national and global challenges, build skills for the future and drive an informed public conversation. 

By becoming a part of the Turing network, the University’s vision is to foster a broader collaborative network that allows us to undertake ambitious projects to tackle global challenges on a larger scale.
