Business School receives an AMBA award

The University's Business School won the award for the Best Innovation Strategy at the Association of MBAs & Business Graduates Association Awards.

The award illustrates the success of the School’s commitment to student employability with the engagement of 5000 students in a Strengths Coaching Accreditation, which has helped them to develop expertise in resilience, confidence and self-awareness. This year, the initiative has seen 30% of students who took part securing placements with Times Top 100 Employers.

Professor Hannah Holmes, Dean of Business School at Manchester Metropolitan University, said: “This award is an incredible way to mark Manchester Metropolitan’s 200-year anniversary in 2024 and a credit to our fantastic students and faculty members.

“The award highlights our collective efforts to deliver excellence in business education whilst also making a positive impact on our communities, nationally and internationally.”

As the School celebrates it’s 30th year of holding an Association of MBAs accreditation, it also launches its new Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The Manchester Met MBA, designed for responsible leaders, managers and employers, will start in September 2024 and is currently open for applications.

Dr Anastasia Kynighou, MBA Programme Director has stated ‘Our Manchester Met MBA is future-focused, people-centred and research-enhanced and we have designed it having the highest academic standards in mind, up-to-date research developments in the field, and whilst being in constant dialogue with our industry experts. By joining our Manchester Met MBA you will embark on a fascinating journey of knowledge, self-development and self-understanding which will shape and transform your life and career. You will create long-lasting relationships with your peers and tutors and upon graduation you will join our wider community of alumni that includes many successful current leaders in British and international organisations. We hope in turn, you will go out in the world and show them you mean business and you will make your own mark and become an agent for positive change for a better world and more responsible business.’

Developed with experiential learning at its core, it will focus on contemporary issues such as sustainability, digitalisation, ethical management and wellbeing. By utilising a blended learning approach, the part time MBA is designed for students who want to learn flexibly around other commitments. More information on the programme can be found on the website.

The School will showcase the new programme at its launch event on 23rd March at the Edwardian Hotel, Manchester, where both interested applicants and alumni are invited to sign up and hear more about the programme. The event will contain a keynote talk, an MBA alumni panel and a drinks reception for alumni networking.
