Biography
Dr. Olamide Jogunola is a Lecturer in Cyber Security and Smartgrid in the Department of Computing and Mathematics at the Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom. Dr. Jogunola received a B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, an M.Sc. degree in Networking and Data Communication from Kingston University, London, UK, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester, UK. Dr. Jogunola was a research investigator on several projects including the 30 Million Euro Smart City (Triangulum) project, the £2M Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading and Sharing EPSRC project, the £2M BEIS-funded Energy-IQ project, and the NICE (Nigerian Intelligent Clean Energy Market Place) project. She was a recipient of the Department of Engineering Ph.D. Studentship on an EPSRC UK-Korea-funded project: P2P-ETS system. She was a PI on a SuperGen Network/EPSRC funded project on an intelligent-based auction market for peer-to-peer energy trading. She recently received a NWPST funding on interlinked computing using smart grid as a case study, and a KTP for AI-enabled and secure smart electric vehicle charging infrastructure, acting as Co-I in both projects.
Her research is in the cyber security of highly distributed smart critical infrastructures, such as smart grids. Specifically, she is investigating the role of emerging technologies, including blockchain and artificial intelligence for privacy and uncertainty modelling in distributed systems. She is also interested in multidisciplinary research in the sphere of emerging technologies for solving national security challenges.
