Our aim is to identify what causes - and who has - decent work and productivity, and what can be done to shape a bright future for the world of work.
Working alongside organisations and policymakers, our research focuses on:
-
the changing nature of work
-
workplace wellbeing
-
vulnerable workers in employment and self-employment
-
creating greater diversity and social mobility in the workplace
-
generating and designing decent and productive work in:
-
small enterprises
-
health and social care
Our people are drawn from different disciplines including human resource management, organisational behaviour, strategy, entrepreneurship and diversity. We share a core belief that all people deserve access to fair, secure and aspirational work.
Because of our extensive collaborations with fellow academics, we have close working relationships with research centres in the UK, Europe and beyond. We are partners with the Massey People, Organisation, Work and Employment research group at Massey University in New Zealand.
And we are part of the University’s triple accredited business school, which places us among the best business schools in the world for our teaching and research.
