Biography

Claire is an Enterprise Fellow, HEA Fellow and Doctoral Researcher and joined the Centre for Enterprise in March 2013. Claire works across a series of programmes to support leadership, innovation, business growth, and entrepreneurship.

Claire has extensive teaching and learning experience, programme design and development, business support, project management and delivery, and higher education experience.

Claire is the Project Manager for the ERDF SMART Cheshire Innovation Programme and the Public and Public Engagement lead for the University Research Centre Decent Works and Productivity, supporting the Sylvia Pankhurst Gender and Diversity Research Centre, Generating Routes for Women’s Leadership project, and also the GM4Women Gender Scorecard initiative.

Since 2015 Claire has been the Programme Director for the Managers2Leaders courses, the highly successful and well-regarded course from the MMU Business School Centre for Enterprise. Claire teaches and projects manages the Managers2Leaders leadership development course.

Prior to this, Claire project managed several projects within the Centre for Enterprise; including ERDF Greater Manchester High Growth Network Programme (2016- 2018), ERDF Knowledge Action Network project, Erasmus+ Essence, developing a Smart Sustainable Cities Minor, and more recently transfer of this programme into Vietnam through Saunac, and the European multi-partner Leonardo da Vinci Transfer of Innovation project.

Claire graduated from Newcastle University in 2002 with a BA (Hons) in Politics, and gained her Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice in 2014. Claire is currently undertaking a PhD in gender and entrepreneurial identity.

Claire led delivery and project management of phase one of this high growth programme, helping companies to expand their market research and create new jobs.

Claire leads this leadership development programme which supports business owners and line managers develop their leadership skills.

Boosting Resilience: Survival Skills for the New Normal is an intense, boundary-pushing and catalytic two year Executive Learning programme running from 2017 to 2019. It aims to enable senior, executive and board level staff from England-based arts and cultural organisations, music education hubs, ACE accredited museums and local authority library services (that are directly delivered or fully commissioned to a 3rd party) to develop new approaches to building resilience through learning how to make the most of Creative Assets and Intellectual Property.

Sustainability Alliance of Urban Networks in Asian Cities (SAUNAC) is funded by the European Union’s ERASMUS+ programme and is a partnership of 5 European and 6 Vietnamese universities. The activity aims to build the capacity of the universities in Vietnam and their stakeholders to give them the tools to enable a transition in Vietnam through a number of activities that educate professionals and students to develop viable solutions for smart sustainable cities.
