Research Focus and Contributions

Dr. Opeoluwa Aiyenitaju is a Lecturer in Business Information Systems with expertise in Digital Transformation and Organisational Outputs. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information & Communication Technology from Covenant University, an MSc in Managing Information Technology, and a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Salford, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Practice from the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Dr. Aiyenitaju’s research centres on Inclusive Technological Interventions for Enhancing Graduate Outcomes and Closing Awarding Gaps. She utilises Dooyeweerd’s Philosophical framework to explore the intersection of technology and organisational effectiveness, aiming to improve usability and outputs.

Educational Innovation and Leadership

Dr. Aiyenitaju developed and leads the PG Connect Digital program, which equips students with digital skills, industry connections, and credentials to enhance their employability. Her teaching includes designing content for various modules, and maintaining high student satisfaction scores.

Academic and Professional Affiliations

Currently, Dr. Aiyenitaju serves as the Year Manager for Business Technology Level 4 and the Departmental Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) Coordinator. She has previously served as the Year Manager for Business Technology Levels 5 and 6, and as a Personal Tutor for various levels, from the Foundation Year to Level 4. She is an active member of professional organizations like The British Academy of Management and The UK Academy for Information Systems, the Chartered Association of Business Schools.

Awards and Recognition

Her dedication has earned her the Community Outreach and Impact Award (2024) and the Going Above and Beyond Award (2022). She has received accolades for her research, including Best Paper Presentation Awards and the Gold Salford Student Life Award.

Community Engagement

Dr. Aiyenitaju is committed to community service as a school governor and the Education & Engagement Manager for the Society of Black Academics, promoting educational excellence and inclusivity. Her fellowship with the Higher Education Academy highlights her commitment to advancing teaching and learning practices.

Research outputs

My research centres on the use of Information Systems. I am interested in the integration of human with technical issues and drawing attention to important aspects mostly overlooked. This reflects my interest in developing new ways of solving particular problems. I am careful to recognise the direct experience of end users with technical matters while contributing on social issues.
