Biography

Jonathan is Director of Strategic Partnerships in the Faculty of Business and Law and the Academic Strategy & Policy Lead for Apprenticeships. His focus is on engaging with businesses and the community to further the Faculty’s strategic aims in knowledge exchange, research impact and commercial offerings, especially Degree Apprenticeships. He is Chair of the Charted Association of Business School’s Apprenticeship Committee and serves on Advisory Boards for the Greater Manchester Learning Provider’s Network and the Growth Company. 

Over the last 15 years, Jonathan’s has specialised in designing and delivering major regional executive education programmes for high-growth SMEs. He was previously the National Academic Director of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK programme. He has also directed large scale ERDF and RDA initiatives in the North West, directly supporting the development of more than 1,000 CEOs/MDs.

He has served as an assessor chair for the Small Business Charter Mark, as Chair of the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s special interest group on growth, and as a member of the Cheshire and Warrington LEP Business Advisory Board. Other management roles included working for a third sector training and education organisation, for the Manufacturing Advisory Service, and as a leadership consultant.
