Biography

Mike is a Lecturer in Sport Management within the Sport Policy Unit at MMU. He is currently writing his PhD thesis, which explores the concept of esport (professional gaming) and how our understanding of ‘sport’ is changing in an increasingly digital world. His primary interests across the Unit are global sport cultures, mega-events, and ethical governance. Aside from his academic pursuits, he has completed several marathons, enjoys playing badminton, and is a PADI Advanced Open Water-qualified scuba diver.
