University recognised for its outstanding provision

Manchester Metropolitan University has been named the UK’s top rated university provider for degree apprenticeships for the fifth consecutive year.

The University was named 11th in a list of the top 50 training providers on RateMyApprenticeship, the highest ranked university on this year’s list.

The list celebrates training providers who have gone above and beyond in their delivery of apprenticeship qualifications. It is based solely on students’ reviews of their apprenticeships through the RateMyApprenticeship website.

Liz Gorb, Director of Apprenticeships at Manchester Met, said: “We are extremely proud to be named the top university provider in the country for our degree apprenticeship provision, for a fifth year in a row. This ranking is particularly special to us, as our apprentices have voted for us themselves. It is a fantastic recognition of the quality of our programmes and experiences of our learners.

“The team, and our provision, have grown significantly since we launched in 2015. This top rated university position and our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ ratings in 2018 and 2022 are evidence that the high-quality we strive for is being achieved.

“Degree apprenticeships make a real impact on people’s lives and careers. Our programmes offer leading academic learning combined with skills development, delivering exceptional results both at university and in the workplace. We will continue working with our employer partners to upskill employees, nurture new talent and address skills gaps in a range of industries.”

Manchester Met has received over 900 verified reviews on the RateMyApprenticeship website, with apprentices asked to rate both their provider and their employer.

A Digital Marketer degree apprentice commented:

“I love my job and the university I am at. Everything I have learnt so far at university I have used in my role - so it aligns almost perfectly. I have been able to provide my own opinion and have the knowledge to back it up. In discussions with senior leaders, we have been able to use information learnt at university to encourage a more modern approach to our customer segmentation.”

A Chartered Manager degree apprentice said:

“The Manchester Met team have been truly exceptional in their support throughout my studies. They have consistently gone above and beyond to provide guidance, resources, and a nurturing learning environment. The faculty and staff have been approachable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping all students succeed. Their commitment to my growth and development has made a significant positive impact on my educational journey.”

More than 15 of Manchester Met’s partner employers were also listed in the Top 50 Employers category.

Manchester Met has been a pioneering and leading provider of degree apprenticeships since 2015, and currently has more than 2,500 degree apprentices and over 540 employer partners.
