Line manager and mentor information and workshops 

To help managers and mentors understand their role in supporting an apprentice’s development and to find out more about our course, we schedule regular manager and mentor workshops.

These sessions include: 

  • Introduction to the Manchester Met Apprenticeships Unit 

  • The course structure, content, delivery and assessment 

  • The role of a workplace manager or mentor 

  • Supporting apprentice learners 

  • Engaging with the e-portfolio

Apprentice timetables 

Your apprentice(s) will access their timetables through their Virtual Learning Environment, once they have enrolled.

Apprenticeship standard and assessment Info 

The apprenticeship standard provides the building blocks of our Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist Masters Apprenticeship. It is the blueprint for the development of our apprentices across the duration of the course. The standard will be used regularly during reviews as a point of reference, and we recommend that you familiarise yourself with its contents.   

Unit summaries 

Hardware and Software requirements   

All Digital and Technology Solutions masters apprentices will require their own laptop for the duration of the course. They will need to have sufficient access rights in order to download software packages vital for their learning on the course. 

Minimum recommended laptop specifications are: 

  • Processor | Intel Core i5 or m5 

  • Ram | 8Gb  

  • Hard Disk | 240Gb SSD 

  • Operating System | Either: Windows 10, Linux (All 64Bit) 

  • IO | 3 USB ports, 1 HDMI, 1 Optical mouse 

  • Graphics processor | Integrated graphics card 

  • Networking | Wi-Fi- 802.11b/g/n 

End-point assessment (EPA) guidance 

The EPA is an integral component of the course. The masters will be achieved upon successful completion of this assessment. The EPA is designed in collaboration with employers and applies to all organisations delivering this apprenticeship.  

Line managers or mentors will be invited to an EPA briefing session at the appropriate point in the apprentice’s course. For more information, please download the apprenticeship assessment plan.
