Marja Lahelma-Barnsley

I am a programme leader and senior lecturer in the Accounting, Finance and Banking department. I joined MMU in 2019, after freelancing as an associate lecturer for a few years. As well as lecturing, I moderate HMRC professional exams.

I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).  I trained and qualified at Deloitte and worked in various finance roles in different companies and industries for over 20 years.

I set up my own financial consultancy business in 2015 and have been providing accounting, tax and financial management advice to a range of clients since then.
