Biography
Stuart is the Postgraduate Teaching Lead for the Faculty of Business and Law. He joined academia in 2018 after spending over 20 years working in the financial sector. Much of this time was spent leading teams and directly delivering for both SME and personal customers. Before joining Manchester Metropolitan University, he was the Director for SME Banking for NatWest in Cheshire.
Over the past 5 years Stuart’s teaching has focused on areas of Banking, such as commercial lending, risk and regulation; and in the behavioural drivers of financial decision making.
Membership of professional associations
Stuart is a Chartered Banker (MCBI), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Chartered Manager as a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMgr CMI).
Teaching
I have taught on a number of programmes that link to my experience in banking, my time working with business or my interest in the psychology of decision making.
I am passionate about the positive difference that finance and, in particular, banking can make for individuals, businesses and society. If I teach you, expect to be challenged to think like a finance professional and to apply what you learn to real-life scenarios.
