The Criminology and Sociology Society (CrimSoc) is one of the biggest societies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. With over 130 members, the society brings together like-minded people that wish to enrich their studies and to meet others with similar interests.
Some of the events held in 2015 include:
- Guest Lecture: a speaker was invited to talk about their life as a narcotics officer.
- Guest Lecture: an ex-undercover drugs officer was invited to talk about the 14 year service as part of the drugs squad.
- Bierkellar Socials: CrimSoc negotiated a deal with Bierkellar in the Printworks to allow anyone that was a member to enjoy 25% off food all week and discounts from drinks on the evening of the socials.
- Charity Events: CrimSoc raised money through a bake sale held in the Geoffrey Manton Building. As always, people donated and bought cakes generously resulting in a fantastic £458.31.
The society calendar starts in September at the fresher's fair where students can go along to sign up.
