Apprenticeship standard and assessment information
The apprenticeship standard provides the building blocks of the Creative Digital Design Degree Apprenticeship. It is the blueprint for the development of our apprentices across the duration of the course. The standard will be used regularly during reviews as a point of reference, and we recommend that you familiarise yourself with its contents.

Software requirements
Hardware requirements
All Creative Digital Design apprentices will require their own laptops for the duration of the course. They will need to have sufficient access rights in order to download software packages vital for their learning on the course.
- A reasonably powerful Mac or PC Window 10 laptop, that is light enough to carry into University. We advise that apprentices don’t use Linux due to software restrictions.
- Wireless networking
- A working webcam (for user testing)
- Use of a touchscreen device (the apprentice’s own phone will suffice, for user testing and ideation)
- Rights to install software, or a method where the students can request software is added to their machine. There are lots of packages that we recommend on the course and it would be helpful if apprentices could download an assortment and decide which they prefer. Software will usually be free or available with academic discount.
- If you require an advance indication of the software websites likely to be required, please email the Apprenticeship Team.
- View in-depth IT specifications
End-point assessment (EPA) guidance
The EPA is an integral component of the course. The degree will be achieved upon successful completion of this assessment.
The EPA is designed in collaboration with employers and applies to all organisations delivering this apprenticeship. Find out more about what your apprentices will be expected to do as part of the EPA.
If you require any of the above documents in a different format, please email us.
