Technical Services - Students

Technical Services are a team of 200 highly trained, highly qualified staff who work in specialist areas such as laboratories, workshops, theatres and studios to provide support to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Enhancing your student experience is at the heart of what we do.

We are the people who:

• Prepare your laboratories, workshops and studio spaces to enable you to complete scheduled practical work.
• Deliver practical skills training and support your personal skills development.
• Provide personalised support for your independent practical work (for example your final year projects and extra-curricular activity).
• Supply you with the additional resources required (including loan equipment) to complete the practical elements of your study. This is typically administered via one of our Resource Centres or counter services.
• Share our practical skills, knowledge and experience to ensure you have the best learning experience (for example, via bookable 121 sessions with trained experts).
