Through our academic excellence and wide-ranging research we aim to help tackle the complex crime, health and disorder issues facing society, locally and regionally, as well as nationally and internationally.
Our co-production approach with Greater Manchester Police aims to develop an enhanced understanding of policing demand, specifically around the themes of mental ill health, domestic abuse and missing persons.
We are working with West Midlands Police to understand the relationship between alcohol and crime, and offender concentrations across the West Midlands
We are working with Police Scotland to understand the impact of inequalities and crime over the previous 20 years in the Greater Glasgow region.

Leading the way with youth-informed, youth-led research to improve lives and understanding, this team of researchers from across Manchester Metropolitan University explores how the meanings, experiences and representations of youth have changed over time.
MCYS (Manchester Centre for Youth Studies)
The PERU teamat Manchester Metropolitan University evaluates policies, programmes and projects, advising policymakers on the development of evidence-informed policy. Our evaluators, economists, sociologists and criminologists have expertise in criminal and youth justice, youth engagement and radicalisation, welfare reform and social innovation.

At Manchester Met, we are proud to have a Q-Step Centre. The Q-Step programme aims to make a step-change in quantitative social science training, helping graduates to develop skills for the contemporary economic and social climate we live in.
We are developing international comparative research with academic partners at Griffith University.
