Graduation is quickly approaching. After years of hard work and dedication, it’s finally time to celebrate your achievements. 

The Class of 2023 graduation dates are here, and you can now book your ceremony tickets. But how do you book and how many tickets do you get? We cover some of the key questions below. 

Frequently asked questions about Graduation 2023 

How do I book my graduation ceremony? 
You should have received an invite to book through your personal email account. If you did not receive an email by mid-April, please check your junk or spam folders. You can also contact gradinfo@mmu.ac.uk if you have any questions.  

You can login into the booking system using your student ID number and normal password. If you have already completed your course, your password may have been set to your date of birth in the following format – ddmmyy. 

How many graduation tickets do I get? 
When you book onto your ceremony, you will get two free guest tickets. The guest tickets are in addition to your student ticket. 

You will need to let us know that you plan to attend your ceremony by Friday 16 May 2023. If you register after this, we cannot guarantee that the two free tickets all students get will be available to you.  

Can I get extra tickets for my ceremony? 
Extra guest tickets are due to go on sale in May. This will be subject to availability. If extra tickets become available, you will receive an email with booking details.  

Every guest will need to have a ticket to attend your ceremony this includes children and babies. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to buy all the tickets you need. This is due to venue capacity restrictions and making sure that every student has at least two guest tickets.  

I’ve booked Graduation. What now? 
You will receive an email confirmation with your ticket order details. Other ceremony information will be sent to you closer to the time. We do not send out student or guest tickets. You will need to pick these up on the day of your ceremony when you register at The Midland Hotel. 

We will send you email updates, but you can also visit our Graduation page for the most up-to-date information.  

How do I book my robe? 
Robe bookings will be available when the booking systems open via the Ede and Ravenscroft website. The robe booking deadline is 4:00pm on 10 July 2023.

What happens if I can’t attend my ceremony? 
If you can’t join your ceremony due to exceptional circumstances such as illness, bereavement or pregnancy, please email us at gradinfo@mmu.ac.uk. Please use the subject line: Graduation ceremony alternative ceremony request and include your student ID number. 

We will try to accommodate requests wherever possible. 

If your original ceremony is now full, you will be offered the option to attend an alternative ceremony.  

Even if you are not attending your ceremony, we need to confirm important information with you about your final award certificate and contact details, so that we can send your award certificate on to you.  

Can I still have graduation pictures taken if I can’t attend my ceremony? 
This summer, we are offering the opportunity have your photographs taken by the University’s official photographers, Ede and Ravenscroft, in advance of your graduation ceremony.  

This is opportunity is available for: 

You will get a free gown to use at your photo session. All you need to pay for is the selection of photographs you would like printed.  

The sessions will take place in May 2023. For further details, please visit the graduations webpage.  

Can guests who can’t attend the ceremonies watch online? 
Yes, all of the graduation ceremonies will be streamed live. Visit our graduation ceremonies streaming page for more details.  

Guest without tickets can also watch a live stream on campus in our SODA (School of Digital Arts) cinema room (G.12).
