So, it's time to get stuck into your assignments. You've started you research and perhaps even made a plan of action, but now it’s all about finding the perfect place to study.  

Everyone is different and we all have a preferred study space – that might be your room, the library or a friend’s house, but sometimes studying in a different environment can be a great way to boost your productivity.  

You’re in luck; Manchester has many great coffee shops within walking distance from campus that are great spaces to concentrate and study. Plus treating yourself to a coffee and a slice of cake can help keep you motivated.

Federal is an independent chain of coffee shops with three locations in Manchester; one can be found next to Hatch on Oxford Road. The Federal menu is huge and is inspired by the cuisine and atmosphere of Australia and New Zealand, you will be spoilt for choice

TAKK oozes Scandi minimalism, making for a simple and stylish space. Their brunch menu is impressive, and the coffee and freshly prepared cakes are certainly worth a visit – and there’s three locations to choose from.

Ditto is modern and stylish with an edgy and vibrant atmosphere. If you like to study with music in the background, then this is the place for you. Created by the founders of Ditto Music it offers a welcoming and cool environment.  

Location: 61 Oxford Street, M1 6EQ  

Bold Street Coffee has hit University Green. The Liverpudlian coffee shop has made its way to Manchester and is a great spot to grab a specialty coffee, food, or a slice of cake as you study.

The Milk & Honey Café is a not-for-profit café that specialises in organic and ethically sourced food and drinks. The community café has a lovely welcoming feel to it thanks to its shared tables and friendly volunteers. Definitely worth a visit.

Chapter One Books is a must if you are a book lover. This independent bookstore and café, that started from a family’s love of great books, amazing cakes and good coffee, is the perfect spot to lose yourself in your studying for a couple of hours.
