Accessing the library

You’re welcome to bring someone to help you when you visit the library.

Your family member, helper, caregiver or support worker will be asked to sign in at the help desk when you both arrive.

Some agency support workers have their own ID card, which they should bring with them. If this is a Manchester Met card they can swipe straight in.

Borrowing items on your behalf

You can nominate someone to borrow library books on your behalf.

If it’s just a one-off, the nominated person will need to bring an email from you confirming that you’re happy for them to collect your books. The email should come from your student email address and contain your ID number.

Alternatively, you may nominate a support worker or carer to collect items on your behalf regularly by applying for an authorisation card for them.

When borrowing on your behalf, they must bring their authorisation card.
