    • religion
    • culture
  • monitor the quality of PAL sessions through developmental observations of PAL leader sessions at least once a year and through student feedback on sessions attended
  • listen to you and provide advice and guidance to help resolve any queries. This can include making onward referrals to specialist teams on your behalf to ensure you receive the best support possible

Our commitment to you

Our committed and fully trained PAL leaders work collaboratively with the central PAL team and PAL course leads so we can:

  • make time to go over difficult material together with other students from a higher year group
  • provide an opportunity to discuss ides, concerns and ask questions that may seem hard or awkward to ask in lectures, seminars, or tutorials
  • provide you with an opportunity to gain confidence and make friends
  • develop a pathway for you to achieve better results in assignments or modules

Your commitment to us

In order for us to offer relevant, timely and high-quality services, we ask you to:

  • unless provided with a separate communication channel by your PAL leader(s), communicate any requests for further topics to be covered in your sessions to the central PAL team at pal@mmu.ac.uk
  • attend your PAL sessions on time and have your mobile phone on silent
  • co-operate and fully engage with PAL leaders
  • treat everyone in your PAL sessions, including PAL leaders, with courtesy and respect
  • consider advice from PAL leaders about any suggested referral to other internal or external support services
  • provide feedback on your PAL sessions through the links shared with you at the end of sessions by your PAL leaders
