Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba. Individuals gain different things from practice. Some enjoy the martial, physical and technical aspects of one of the most sophisticated martial arts ever developed, while others engage more with aspects of concentration and moving meditation.

What type of Aikido do we do?

Iwama Aikido is the last undiluted form of Aikido that places a significant emphasis on a highly technical curriculum and study of weapons, namely the bokken (wooden sword) and jo (staff). Iwama Aikido seeks to maintain the martial effectiveness and practicality of Aikido techniques.
