Manchester Met Water Polo

Manchester Met Water Polo Club is one of our performance clubs. This provides an integral pathway with the country’s top water polo club in the City of Manchester (NL 1st Division).

The club has seen fantastic success over the past few years. The men’s team have been BUCS Champions twice, BUCS Finalists four times, and Prem North winners four times. The women’s team have been a BUCS finalist once, a Northern Conference Cup winner once, and have gained three promotions.

The club will train at the newly refurbed Manchester Aquatic Centre Commonwealth Games Pool. Our men’s team currently sit at the top of BUCS Northern Premier Division which is the highest level of water Polo in the university calendar.

    Led and coached by City of Manchester head coach, Theo Nousios and 2017 ASA Coach of the Year, , the men’s 1st team have their training integrated with City of Manchester. The club is now one of the most successful water polo clubs in the UK, being current holders of both the 2019, 2020 and 2022 men’s and women’s BWPL Division One titles. They are the first and only club ever to achieve the League double and have subsequently retained it twice.

    Alongside BUCS competition the club compete in the British Water Polo league, all Swim England National Age Group championships and the M6 league. The club runs senior, junior and academy squads for men and women.
