Manchester Met Swimming

Manchester Met Swimming is one of our performance sports, which provides an integrated pathway alongside the City of Manchester Swim team (CoMAST). This pathway is the first Swim England Performance Centre and is supported by British Swimming and British Para-Swimming.

The team has a track record of success, with swimmers including Olympic finalists, Paralympic Championships as well as medallists at the Commonwealth Games, World Championships, World University and European Championships.

The team is based at the Commonwealth Games facility in the city centre and is a Swim England Performance Centre. In recent years, students from Manchester Met have gone onto represent the country at major competitions and the unique partnership between the University, the team and the City means that duel career pathways are strong and supported.

As a result of this partnership, Manchester Met Swim club has moved from being outside the top 50 teams at BUCS level, to a consistent top five in the last few years.

The swim club competes in all BUCS competitions as well as hosting various external galas.
